Oh, a blue taxi! And not a black one, may be the reaction of most people, as the black London cabs are legend. However, for me, it is “not a purple one”. In Baku, where I lived for a few years, the purple taxis were introduced in 2011 and became an ubiquitous institution in the capital city of Azerbaijan. They are popular with foreigners – not only for the convenience to enter and get out, but more so for their meters and a fair price without hassle and bargaining with the driver.

I have occasionally seen a blue cab in Rennes, but they are quite rare.

I worked and lived in Baku in Azerbaijan since September 2012 and started the blog "Life in Baku". End of August 2015 I moved to Rennes in France with the 365 project in my new blog "Life in Rennes".
