The Fête des remparts is a biannual medieval festival in Dinan. Who has ever been in this charming town with its medieval center and the ramparts will agree that it serves as a perfect stage for a medieval festival. This year it took place at 23rd and 24th of July.

The whole city center is in festive costume and mood – buildings and people. While the town center provides the scene, four sites at the ramparts show scenes according themes and in addition there is a tournament. While the medieval feeling on the streets is for free, the entrance to the sites comes with a fee. However, the organizers are pretty smart: People dressed in medieval outfit enter for free. The consequence: many visitors dress in historic costumes and become part of the sceneray and spectacle. One really can get nearly lost in time – or maybe it is just a matter of dose of (medieval) drinks.

There is too much to show for a post – just a glimpse here. For a longer visit check out the page on my blog.
